Directory billing, cancellation and refunds

Effective October 5, 2026. These billing terms apply to purchases from Maryland Recommendations.

Your $49 business listing

The base listing costs $49 once, with no annual renewal or fixed expiry while the directory operates, subject to our listing policies. It includes your business name, address and primary location/map, phone, website, description, opening hours and four images: one banner, one logo and two additional photos. Your dashboard lets you edit your listing and access billing records. A new listing becomes public only after successful payment (or completion of a valid fully discounted order).

Optional monthly services

Extra photos, social links, business coupons/offers, service areas and sponsorships are separate, optional monthly subscriptions. The selected price is displayed before checkout. By purchasing a monthly service, you authorize recurring monthly charges until cancellation. There is no recurring charge for the $49 base listing.

Cancellation

To stop future renewals, open your business dashboard, choose Billing & invoices, then Manage subscriptions and cancel the subscription before its next renewal. Monthly access continues through the end of the paid period. Cancelling an add-on or sponsorship does not cancel your permanent base listing.

No-refund policy

Once paid, permanent listings are non-refundable. Monthly add-ons and sponsorship payments are also non-refundable, including partial or unused billing periods. Cancellation stops future renewals and does not refund earlier charges. These terms do not limit refunds or other rights required by applicable law.

Sponsored placement

Sponsored placements are labelled and may rotate with other advertisers. Category sponsorship is restricted to the chosen category; sitewide sponsorship may appear across the directory. Advertising does not guarantee a particular number of views, clicks, inquiries or sales. Campaigns are subject to our advertising review.

Unpaid drafts and help

Unpaid listing drafts are scheduled for permanent deletion after 72 hours, including their details, listing contact email and photos used only by the unpaid draft. Your user account remains. Contact us through our contact page for billing or cancellation help.

Terms and Conditions for Maryland Recommendations Business Directory

1. Introduction

Welcome to the Maryland Recommendations Business Directory (the “Directory”). This Directory is a platform for businesses to showcase their products and services to the general public. By accessing or using the Directory, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”). If you do not agree to the Terms and Conditions, please do not use the Directory.

2. Use of the Directory

2.1. Eligibility: To use the Directory, you must be 18 years or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

2.2. Use Restrictions: You agree not to use the Directory for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. This includes, but is not limited to, posting or transmitting any unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, infringing, obscene, or otherwise objectionable material.

2.3. User Content: You are solely responsible for any content or information you post or transmit through the Directory (the “User Content”). You grant the Directory a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sub-licensable right to use, copy, modify, display, distribute, and create derivative works from your User Content in connection with the Directory.

3. Intellectual Property

3.1. Directory Content: The content of the Directory, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You agree not to copy, modify, or use the Directory Content for any commercial purpose without the express written consent of the Directory.

3.2. User Content: You retain all rights in your User Content. However, by posting or transmitting User Content on or through the Directory, you grant the Directory a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sub-licensable right to use, copy, modify, display, distribute, and create derivative works from your User Content in connection with the Directory.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Directory is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. The Directory makes no warranties or representations regarding the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or timeliness of the Directory Content or User Content.

5. Limitation of Liability

The Directory will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the use of the Directory, including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses.

6. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the Directory, its affiliates, and their respective officers, agents, partners, and employees, harmless from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Directory or your violation of these Terms and Conditions.

7. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.

8. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be resolved through arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be held in Baltimore, Maryland.

9. Changes to the Terms and Conditions

The Directory reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time and without prior notice. Your continued use of the Directory after such changes will indicate your acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions. It is your responsibility to regularly review these Terms and Conditions for any updates or changes. Your use of the Directory following any changes constitutes your agreement to be bound by the revised Terms and Conditions.

10. Termination

The Directory reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the Directory, with or without notice and with or without cause. Upon termination, you must immediately destroy all copies of any Directory Content in your possession.

11. General

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and the Directory and govern your use of the Directory, superseding any prior agreements between you and the Directory. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The failure of the Directory to enforce any right or provision of these Terms and Conditions shall not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
